BTCCSquare news:

A British widow lost her home and £600,000 after falling victim to a romance scam involving deepfake technology impersonating actor Jason Momoa. The fraudster, posing as the Hollywood star, convinced the victim they were in a relationship and persuaded her to sell her Cambridgeshire property to fund their "dream home" in Hawaii.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed the scammer used manipulated images and fabricated film project investments to justify repeated cash requests. After the victim transferred proceeds from her house sale, communication ceased abruptly. Authorities note similar schemes targeting vulnerable individuals across the UK and US, including an £80,000 case using identical tactics.
